It sounds as though you have an early model rail mounted engine. The adjustable mounts really won't work in these installations, as they were designed for rails that are approximately 2" lower than yours.

I'm not all sure why your engine wouldn't line up after you lowered it back down to the original rails. This would presumably be the same level the engine was sitting prior to removal. - Updated: May 24, 2004
