Friends:
I'm actually Dave in Seattle but very near Renton, Washington. I'm sailing a 1979 Ericson 29. She has been as primped and polished and fussed over as much as one should on a boat this age and market value (well, maybe more than I should). I have had her since 2002 and she has provided many memorable adventures thus far. I sail her out of Elliott Bay Marina overlooking the Seattle skyline and Mount Rainier. This is among the most beautiful marina locations in the USA and it is a real priviledge to keep her there. She is a modest member of the uptown yacht community but she gets out more than most of the decorations sitting at the docks and that makes her one happy craft. There are only a handful of systems that have not been replaced or upgraded on the boat and one of them is the A-4. Continued TLC will keep her up and running as long as I can manage it. I have replaced an exhaust elbo, an alternator, and added electronic ignition and an in-line fuel filter. Besides normal maintenance, that's it! At 48 years, I've been sailing since I was 12, mainly on home-built or restored 16 foot racing sloops like Snipes and Sun Boats and this is my first cruiser. It was a lifelong dream and the experience of ownership exceeds all the expectations. I make my living in the banking support services industry and am an avid musician and song-writer.
