During the trip i am on i am finding oil in the bildge. The oil is dark colored and the oil in the crank case is fairly clean. I just changed it before we left. I cannot locate the source on the front end of the motor. Where are some places that this oil can be leaking?
Thanks, Phil Knier

Have you recently changed the water pump impeller--and possibly in replacing the shaft you nicked the seals on the engine side of the pump?

Or, the seal wasn't adequately lubricated by grease from the grease cup, the shaft got scored, and the seal no longer seals?

I had this problem. It caused a surprising amount of oil to leak into the bilge. You can tell by passing your hand underneath the water pump, in the area below where the "window" is that lets you see the impeller shaft. (The window is really a weep hole allowing leaking oil or water to get out of the pump.)

Replacing the seals is not too hard once you get the pump off, although you do need to make some sort of an angled prying/poking tool to get the inner seal out.
