Lucas Oil

My engine is exhausting excessive white smoke when it accelerates. Also, I leave a little slick if I am in the marina. My mechanic opined that I probably needed a ring job which could be cost prohibitive. He suggested a thick Lucas Oil as a stop gap measure. My mechanic is very knowledgeable. However, I have not seen a great deal of discussion about Lucas Oil on this website and was wondering if anyone uses it with success. If so, which of the Lucas products is recommended.
