View Full Version : Oil pressure adjusting bolt washer

In testing my engine on the bench in the garage, I've noticed a slow oil leak around the oil pressure adjusting bolt washer.

I remember seeing a comment here along the lines of, "go easy on the washer", so I'm hesitant about cranking down too hard on the locking nut.

What are my options? Should I go to a softer, copper washer- or is this a bad idea?

Or, how far can I tighten the retaining nut before I should be concerned with possible damage (foot-lbs?).

Thanks,
Kelly

Kelly,

A copper washer normally used on spark plugs makes a wonderful sealing washer for your oil pressure regulating valve.
