my son borrowed my boat and put diesel fuel in my gas atomic 4, can anyone tell me what to do?

he said it turns over but wont start--thats after he emptied the diesel out and put reg gas in.

Debbie,

Sorry to hear of your situation. You will probably have to remove the main passage plug in the bottom of your carburetor and pump some fuel through the system to be sure that all the diesel fuel has been removed. When the fuel runs perfectly clean, reinstall the plug and the engine should then start. If you have good access to the carburetor, you shouldn't have to remove the carburetor to remove this plug.

The main passage plug is the 1/2" hex-headed plug that faces aft (away from the flywheel end of the engine). This plug has a hard black washer under it which might try to fall into the bilge, so be careful. Also, when reinstalling the plug do not over-tighten it. This not a tapered pipe plug, but a plug with fine machine threads which rely on the hard washer to seal.
