Hello viewers. I have just become owner of a Seafarer Tripp 30. I am new to sailing and new to restoring a sail boat. I have done 2 cars in the past and I am what you call a 'do it your-selfer'. I love taking on new projects and it appears this new boat will be a fun one. I logged on to this site because my boat has an Atomic 4 in it. It will need to be taken out and given a complete run though while I am doing a bottom job on the boat. This motor looks simple enough to work on. I would like to get a manuel for repairing it and a contact for parts. Any suggestions from you viewers will be greatly appreciated. ;) Also, I would like to get the pros and cons on if the current 'points' ignition system can be replace with an electronic type system. Would the cost be beneficial or is it just personal preference.
More postings to come and thanks for any input! :)

Your query about adding electronic ingition to your Atomic 4 is a good one. I have just finished returning my Atomic 4 distributor to it's original points and condenser configuration after the Ignitor previously installed failed EXPLOSIVELY after two seasons.!!! On advice of Mr. Moyer I have returned the failed parts to the manufacturer for analysis and am anxiously awaiting their assessment as to the cause. Should be an illuminating and interesting
assessment.

Mr Moyer can help with all your A4 needs. I put in a electronic ignition about 4 or 5 years ago and love it. No more standing on my head in heavy seas sanding and gaping points!

Thanks for the replies. Good luck E with your ignition analysis. I'll be interested in the outcome. Please let me know what you find out from the manufacturer.
