A4 lifters solid or hyd

I have a 1973 A4 in a pearson 30 that has ran great for the last 10 years. I service it every 6 months. in the past 3 months it runs rough at startup and then clears up one cyl at a time in about 5 min. dose the A4 have hyd lifters and if so could this be the problem. I have new plugs, wires and i installed a new electronic ignition from moyer marine about 4 years ago ( the best money i have ever spent on my A4)
