I read with astonishment today In the Tin Can Sailor newspaper that the
USS Olympia , docked in Phildephia as a musem, is scheduled to be sunk shortly! Due to needing major hull repairs. (why not dry dock it instead?)

This is amazing and a irreplaceable lost. This was Dewey's flagship in the
Spanish American war and was part of the great white fleet, as well
as the only surviving ship similar to the Maine.

Not sure where this should be posted

I just hope they pull the Atomic 4 out of her first.

I remember the first time I put my ear to the hull of my first ship. I could hear her. She had many battle ribbions from WW2. Land lubbers don't know...they just sign papers, and send ships to the bottom.

Put your ear to your little ship late at night...she will talk to you...if you're not a land lubber.

If she is sunk, she will become another artificial reef, another artificial reef to to scuba dive!
