We ran our late model engine for the first time in a couple of weeks tonight and discovered an oily residue in the overboard water emission. Obviously want to resolve this rather quickly........... just not sure how to troubleshoot.

Janis,
It's difficult for me to understand how anything "oily" could be added to the exhaust emissions, unless it conveyed via the combustion chambers. Therefore, if your engine is running well (plugs dry, etc.) the oily residue is likely nothing more than crud from your water lift muffler emptying out.

I think you hit the nail on the head because we didn't see the residue this past weekend!
BTW, we attended the workshop last March and would jump at the chance to attend another - - Long Island or CT would be great!
