Before we put our boat away for the winter, we were considering adding a fuel stabilazer to the gas in the fuel tank. Does anyone have any experience, pro or con, about using these products? Would hate to spend a few dollars on the product and then spend big bucks correcting any problem it might cause.

A few years ago I left fuel in my tank over the winter without stabilizer and the following season I had a world of trouble with the engine starting up running fine for a period of about an hour and then quiting without warning.
After going through everything I, or the many "friends" who dropped by to offer advice, could think of, I drained the fuel tank, removed and cleaned it, and the carb, put it all back together, filled with fresh fuel and it ran like a champ and never faltered again!
Since that time I add fuel stabilizer every time I fuel up and have never had a recurrance of that particular problem. Just my 2 cents worth. Hope this helps.

I've only had my A4 for two years. I have used always used stabilizer in a full tank and pulled a little 2cycle oil into the engine on the last start and stop. I do this by removing the fuel filter and pouring off a little of the gas and refill with 2 cycle oil. I've had smooth sailing as far as the fuel system goes using this method.
