Block and head. No manifold, starter, or other external parts.
Condition is rough, but it did run. The price is low for a reason - I would not expect this to be a good engine with just minor repairs.
Location - Kent Island MD
Price $150

It is a late model.
I can get pics tonight.
I have to warn you - this is a ways from being a good engine. Better use is parts or a core for total rebuild.

Understood. Even thou the MC's A-4 is a early model I just happen to have some late model parts. Manifold, carb, starter, distributor. So maybe we can raise another A-4 from the ashes. Dan S/V Marian Claire

Joe...I am really just looking for good block I think...everything else can be had from Moyer.
I would not get in a bidding war with Dan either..he has first dibs.

I'll warn both of you the studs for mounting the manifold WILL have to be redone.

I appreciate your full disclosure. Here is what I have in mind and would like yours and others opinion. If this block/head is serviceable: is not frozen, has decent/minimal compression and oil pressure. My plan is to add the missing parts, I believe I have them all just sitting around, and make a serviceable engine. It would be a back up and would see limited if any use. If I had to pull and work on my early model I could drop this one in so the boat would be mobile. I do not plan on rebuilding the internal parts. Am I expecting to much out of this block?
Also with construction work as it is or as it isn't I need a project.

Yes you are. There is a reason it is $150 and not $500+.
EDIT - It did run when pulled and actually gave about 6.5 knots at full power. It also was a major pain to start and had issues with water getting in when shut down I never resolved. If you put all the stuff back on, you might get a running engine, but it would likely have issues of one kind or another. Not saying it isn't worth a try, but I would rather keep it then have someone think "hey a new engine- just add parts".

Again thanks for the info. In fairness to you and others with interest I officially relinquish my "first dibsness". Will be away for a few days, the MC calls, and I need to tie up the loss ends left from the last trip. Shawn if you work something out and you need parts.... Dan S/V Marian Claire
