I have a generator ( not an Alternator) from an early A4 that is in "as removed" condition . The engine it was on did not run and I used the engine for some parts so I have not seen this generator work. The generator spins freely and has a plate on it that has "CEF 5001" stamped into it and the painted letters "lite" visible as the front letters are scratched off. It has "Toledo, Ohio" also on the plate. It may be a Prestolite brand, but I am not familiar with the plate format or types of generators that were used in the early engines. I do not want to trash it if someone can use it so for $20 and shipping it is yours. Contact me at bgeraghty@alum.mit.edu if you are interested
