Virus alert??

I have just received a private message suggesting that my computer & several other (supposed) members have a virus threat. Came with an invitation to click on a link to diagnose the problem. I am running Norton 360 on both machines I use. I am up to date & bombproof. Feeling secure, out of curiosity, I clicked the link. Of course, immediately Norton comes up saying it has blocked an attack.
The message was signed "Lady_Admin"
I'm not worried about my own safety, but though I would put this out. I haven't figured out how to copy the message into a post, but could try if needed.
And I was all excited I got my first PM!

It sounds like you got some malware from someone. Those are typically not dangerous but are a nuisance and sometimes hard to get rid of. Google the message you received and you'll usually find a way to get rid of the nuisance malware.

Exclamation

Someone using Lady_Admin as a user name has suddenly shown up on literally dozens of forums and bulletin boards. Please take the usual precautions (don't open any links; don't provide any information requested, etc.) and delete anything you may receive from this or a similar name.

Bill

Strange message

Bill,
For what it's worth, I got a private message yesterday that was just a quote with an embeded quote from one of my last PMs to someone. It was just kinda weird and didn't make any sense.
There was no new text. Maybe he just hit the send button accidently while reading it. Try again Dave, if you want.

No skullduggery here

Dave,
kool, I d like to hear about anybody else with a C 36.
Mines the old one (1968).
You can just send PMs or whatever. I have just done my keel bolts this winter and have lots of stories about that. Does your neighbor have the A-4?
If get to go aboard, you should check out the elbow room in the engine room of these old C 36s. You'll be very envious.

Re. e-mail bad guys: Must be vigilant these days; now I'm getting telephone robot calls that tell me to give all my pin #s for my bank account. Those D--n Bas----ds

Excuse my french. sea view play,

Russ

keel bolts

Hey Russ, there is a new 'off-topic' section here at the Moyer forums if you want to give us the details on keel bolts. I took the easy route and sistered in the large stainless lag bolts in between the originals last year..seems to be holding.
